Graduate Research Executive

The Graduate Research Executive role is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team as we continue on an exciting path of strategic change. Ideally you will possess good communication / analytical skills and be from a psychology, sociology or marketing background (although not essential).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the smooth running of projects, initially in a supporting role, and following training a more central role.
  • Support in the creation of screeners, questionnaires, discussion guides, analysis plans and other research inputs.
  • Conduct qualitative analysis (interviews, focus groups, and ethnographies)
  • Conduct quantitative analysis - coding, data / table checking, charting of quantitative data
  • Brief freelancers (e.g. analysts, moderators, coders, link checkers)
  • Work with senior insights staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of fieldwork.
  • Contribute to the creation of clear, accurate and impactful insight stories.
  • Support with proposal writing and scoping.
  • Accompany senior team members to client meetings.
  • Proactively help the team learn about clients' businesses.
  • Occasionally assist in qualitative moderation or online board moderation.
  • Trouble-shoot field problems with internal fieldwork team, suggesting solutions
  • Ensure all fieldwork is conducted to time and budget.
  • Develop expertise and knowledge in multiple areas e.g. sensory & fragrance

Who should apply?

We are interested to hear from anyone who has achieved (or is expecting to achieve) an undergraduate degree (or equivalent), but we are particularly keen to hear from people with a psychology, sociology, marketing or analytical background.

While being able to demonstrate a strong academic background is important for the role, so too are softer qualities such as being:

  • Inquisitive and wants to continually understand why and how things happen
  • Good with people and a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Organised and able to juggle several tasks simultaneously while also maintaining a high level of focus on each task
  • Able to identify issues and generate solutions.
  • A creative- thinker and like seeking out novel solutions to problems
  • Numerate with a high degree of accuracy.

Who is Swift Research?

We're a small-ish agency with approx. 25 permanent members of staff, we pride ourselves on our family feel, working collaboratively across teams to produce high quality (often bespoke) solutions to challenging client requests.

With our proactive mentality we impress our clients with our bespoke solutions and stand out from other agencies by delivering over and above the original remit; demonstrating our in-house research expertise and technical innovation ideas.

Our sensory centre and laundry booths combined with our existing wet rooms and viewing facility will provide a unique experience for our clients. Our areas of specialism are in sensory, fragrance, product development, but by no means is this an exhaustive list.

Hybrid working is available to all staff upon successful completion of their 6-month probation. Equally we want our staff to be part of the team and if you prefer to work in the office with colleagues, you are more than welcome to; we're easily commutable from Leeds, Harrogate & York. Location & hours

  •   This role is based at our office in Wetherby, an element of remote working will be available after successful completion of the probation period.
  •   Full time post, 37.5 hours a week. This role involves an element of nationwide travel.
